All the administrative decisions related to various aspects of the college, are taken by the Administrative committee. The committee is responsible for the smooth functioning of the day-to-day activities of the college. They also take important decisions during emergencies. They look at all the vital incidents, which affect the college, the students, the non-teaching and the teaching staff, in the absence of the Principal. All decisions regarding the maintenance of the growth of the college academically or in other fields like Extra-curricular, Co-curricular and Sports, fall within the ambit of the Administrative Committee. |

Academics Committee |

The main objective of this committee is to improve the performance of the students. It also concentrates on promoting activities related to academics in various ways. |

Research Committee |

|
To promote a culture of Research among the teachers and students of the college is the main objective of the Research Committee. The various activities of Research include promotion of Research, publication of research articles, tapping of resources from Govt and Non-Govt agencies for the furtherance of research and to seek ways to improve collaborations with the industry. |

Sports Committee |

The committee is involved in identifying talented students who can represent the college at intercollegiate sports meets and to strengthen sports by organizing inter-class and inter-college activities. It also arranges sports events for teaching and non-teaching staff of the college. It identifies students who have performed in different sports and have been admitted on sports quota and motivates them to participate at college level, district level, state level and national level events. |

Library Committee |

The management of library with respect to maintaining discipline, solving problems of the library, selection of relevant books, magazines, journals etc for the library, and to maintain books in good condition, is the work of the Library Committee. It also allocates funds for the purchase of books, journals etc and regularly update books/CD’s/films in all the necessary subjects. |

KIRAN Magazine has consistently tried to evolve in its choice of themes, articles and presentation. Every contributor has a strong and unique voice. KIRAN is fortunate to transmit this polyphony of voice that represents the cross section of KC College. Our report section captures the range of activities and student and staff achievements that characterize KC’s dynamic nature. KIRAN Magazine 2005-2006 was selected as one of the six finalists for the Prof. M.V. Chandgadkar Trophy for the Best College Magazine organized by R.A. Podar College of Commerce and Economics. The enthusiasm and involvement of the students has transformed it into a students’ magazine with a focus on originality |

Women’s Development Cell (WDC) |
In keeping with the statutory requirements of the University of Mumbai, K.C College has constituted a Women’s Development Cell. The cell comprises of the Principal as the Chairperson, a few members of teaching staff, non-teaching staff and student representatives. The primary objectives of the cell are prevention of sexual harassment, the promotion of general well being of the female students and to provide opportunities for women’s empowerment. WDC organizes a number of workshops, lectures, discussions and film screenings to sensitise the young minds to gender related issues. |

Examination Committee |
This committee too is a mandatory committee, constituted as per the norms of the University of Mumbai. The planning and organization of all college examinations, their smooth conduct and the declaration of the results on time, are the primary objectives of this committee. |

9 |
Local Managing Committee (LMC) |
Constituted as per the statutory requirements of the University of Mumbai, this committee comprises of representatives from the College Management, administration, teaching and non-teaching staff. It ensures smooth coordination and conductance of all college activities and looks into grievances and problems brought before it. |

Unfair Means Committee |
This too has been constituted in keeping with the statutory requirements of the University of Mumbai and it takes action against students caught practicing unfair means during examinations or resorting to malpractices in examinations. |

11 |
Teachers’ Awards Committee |
The teachers of KC College are involved in organizing a number of co-curricular, extra curricular, social work and other activities, in addition to their primary responsibility of teaching. Teachers also help the college administration in a lot of administrative affairs. They are deeply involved in research, presentation and publication of academic papers and research articles. The Teachers’ Award Committee selects the teachers who have contributed the most towards all the above activities, each year. |

International Committee |
KC College has established a number of important tie-ups with foreign universities like Deakin University, Australia and Union College, U.K. Hence this cell gives students graduating from the college, extra opportunities to go abroad for higher studies and facilitates summer internship projects in foreign universities. It also arranges students’ and teachers’ exchange programmes, so as to widen their horizon of experience. Visiting foreign university educationists and academicians are invited to address the students leading to talks and seminars that are arranged by the committee. |

Public Relations Cell (PRC) |
The PRC is involved in improving the public relations of the college and arranging a proper exposure of college activities in the public. It ensures a wide publicity for the college festival, Kiran, and all important, path-breaking activities of the college are provided publicity. It comprises of teaching staff and students under the able guidance of the Principal. |

Attendance Committee |
This committee monitors and takes appropriate measures to improve the attendance of students in college. Since 75% of students’ attendance is mandatory to make a student eligible for taking examinations, hence the committee ensures proper attendance in every subject. |

Suggestion Box Committee |
There are several suggestion boxes placed at convenient location on the college premises and the students are encouraged by this committee to give their suggestions to further improve college activities. The committee selects the best suggestions and acts upon it. |

16 |
Kiran Festival Committee |
KC College believes that education means not only imparting knowledge but also providing a platform where every student can display and enhance his talent in all fields, like the Performing Arts, Literary Arts, Fine Arts, Science, Sports or Computers. This platform is provided to the students through the college festival, Kiran. This is an intercollegiate festival open to all students of various colleges. Through Kiran, the committee gives students the opportunity to plan, organize and conduct this prestigious event where more than fifty colleges participate. Under the guidance of the Principal, Culture Club, teaching and non-teaching staff, the students have been successfully organizing this festival for the past few years. A fine balance is maintained between the students’ academics and cultural activities. Through Kiran, students display and develop their hidden talents. |

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) |
All Colleges accredited by NAAC are required to constitute an IQAC, the primary objective of which is to maintain, suggest and improve the quality of work of the college at all levels. The IQAC looks towards enhancing quality in all aspects of college activities and suggests measures such as workshops and seminars to impart training to staff wherever required. The Principal, Vice Principals and teaching staff are the members of this cell. |

National Service Scheme (NSS) |
The college offers opportunity to students for personality development and self-growth through the NSS. The NSS unit of the college has been very active for over two decades. Over the years, several dedicated teachers and enthusiastic students volunteers have endeavoured to achieve the objective of the National Service Scheme – Development of personality of students through community service and the NSS motto of “You Before Me”. These objectives are achieved by organizing various programmes like Blood donation camps, Adult Literacy programmes, Rural Camps, fund raising drives for CRY, cancer patients, environmental awareness programmes, medical camps etc. The NSS unit has adopted KARWALE, a village at Saphale and initiated the process of development by means of street plays, development of hygiene, spread of literacy, construction of houses, toilets and roads and plantation of fruit trees etc. The volunteers are working towards providing the village with 100% sanitation and well-developed education system. To express its solidarity with the cause of social reforms, the college unit also participates in events organized by the central unit of NSS, University of Mumbai, like peace marches & rallies on the occasion of World Aids Day, World Peace Day etc. Students who volunteer for this two-year programme of the University of Mumbai are eligible for 10 grace marks in the final examinations. They have to put in 120 hours of work by participating in the above programmes to be eligible for the same. |

Purchase Committee |
This committee performs purchase of material required in the day-to-day administration of the college. Under the guidance of the Principal, the committee procures material by taking quotations and making necessary purchases from the most suitable source. |

Website Committee |
This committee looks after the creation, maintenance and updating of the college website. Anyone visiting the site will be provided with all information required, at the click of the mouse. It details the history of the college and gives important information regarding admissions, courses, infrastructure, faculty, library and canteen etc. |
